Have you ever heard someone say, “I’m living the dream”?
If you said this to me, my reply would be, whose dream are you living?“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.”—J.K. Rowling

There’s a serious lack of fun yoga products and gear for guys. I get it that 80% of the people that practice yoga in U.S. are women. It sucks that guys are limited, for the most part, high-end products that all look very similar.
I reached out to Dan at Brogamats to find out more about the company and offered to write a review to spread the word. Of course, if his products didn’t excite me, I wouldn’t waste my time or yours. What I really loved is their commitment to increasing access…
“Brogamats was founded on the belief that yoga practitioners defy simple categorization, and include people of all all walks of life, all genders, all Lululemon budgets, and all levels of earthy pretentiousness. We are avid yogaphiles who felt the range of yoga products currently available was frustratingly narrow, so we decided to start designing our own.” ~Brogamats
I’m still in the queue for doing a review their cool yoga mats. This A+O Review is for The Lumberjack Yoga Bag, their latest creation. Time to kick off the review…
First, attention to detail. I opened a priority mail package to find a small simple packing with a nice touch. Simplicity is good.
My first thought was to find out how much gear could fit. I don’t like carrying a ton of bags if it’s not necessary. The gear I wanted to fit into the bag—Jade Yoga Mat wrapped around a lululemon mat, small Manduka towel, my shorts and technical shirt. All of it fit without having to force the zipper closed.
When I unzipped the bag, I found a nice surprise. My wallet, RoadID, keys and phone (Galaxy S2) easily fit into the zippered pocket.
The size of the bag will fit most yoga mats on the market. The fabric is a little thin but I think it will more than do the job. Carry my yoga mat. Solid construction with wide strap stitched directly into the seams. I have a feeling that Brogamats will continue to refine their designs. Did I mention that the pattern is fun? Not just another color variation. It gives the bag a personality.
Even though it’s marketed for men, it’s for anyone. The Lumberjack is a good change up from the norm. The simple design makes it a good everyday yoga go bag. No frills. Just yoga. It’s ready whenever you’re needing to head to practice at the studio, park or wherever. Lumberjacks probably have a similar set up for their axe and whatever else they use. Simple. Functional. Fun.

full disclosure: I received this product for free. Did that skew my review? Hell, no. If I didn’t like this product. You would have read about it before you got to this point in the review.
Happiness for the day: I couldn’t quote Monty Python and not share the video with you.
